Hi! I’m Wilo, tattooist and multidisciplinary artist based in Barcelona.
For me tattoos are about expression and commemoration. About honoring our journey and ourselves.
More than 800 stories that breath on the skin of people that chose and trusted my art.
Escaping Barcelona’s incessant summer heat, Wiloreturned to Australia, for a 3 month Guest Spot at gorgeous Marketplace Tattoo Studio, in Fremantle. There she explored and expanded her style, creating some of her most ambitious tattoos yet.
Wilo takes the decision to move permanently to Barcelona to pursue a formation in Acupuncture to complement her tattooing practice.
Once in Europe, she crosses a BIG item off her wishlist: tattooing in Berlin. Landing a Guest Spot at queer owned tattoo studio “Baby Berlin”, a place where she will return multiple times over the years.
Wilo decides to go back to Australia, and lands a 6 months Residency at the prestigious Elysian Tattoo Studio in Perth, as a fineline artist.
Wilo has been tattooing for a year at her home studio, and she decides to interview for a spot in a local tattoo shop to meet and mingle with her peers, and gets her first job as a tattoo artist in a professional studio in Buenos Aires. minimalistas.
Back in Buenos Aires she throws herself into her art and is admitted into an Artist Residency Program in Proyecto ‘ace. Impressed with her work, they invite her to showcase her project “Roll Intervenido” -an autobiographical animated collage with social commentary- in their Exhibition.
Wilo quits her corporate job and travels around Australia, where she buys her first tattoo machine and inks her first tattoo.

Specialty Needling: Arte y Cuerpo como Experiencia
Siempre me motivó la pregunta “¿qué sucede más allá de la piel cuando nos tatuamos?”. Esa curiosidad me trajo a Barcelona, donde decidí formarme en Acupuntura para ofrecer un servicio más consciente y respetuoso con el cuerpo.
Hoy, mi visión es crear un estudio de Specialty Needling, donde tatuar sea un acto de conexión, cuidado y expresión.

Why did you pick tattooing as your art form?
Tattooing allows me to merge all my artistic disciplines into something living, creating pieces that accompany and transform people.
What inspires you to create your tattoos?
Nature, the body, emotions, and collage as a visual technique. Each design is born from that unique exchange that happens when the session starts: a reflection of the dialog and energy of the moment.
How would you define your style?
My style is fineline with an organic and abstract approach, combining clean lines with textures and freehand details that make each piece unique.
Why are you studying acupuncture?
I’ve always been curious to understand what happens beyond the skin when we get tattooed, so I studied acupuncture to complement my practice. My hope is to be able to merge these practices in the future: in my own Specialty Needling studio, where tattooing becomes a sensitive and intentional act that strives to balance the body and the mind.
What's your favorite part about tattooing?
I love that first moment of trying the designs directly on the body, cutting little pieces out, combining others, and adding freehand details until we find the perfect composition. The whole tattooing process is super meditative.
Do you tattoo in other cities other than Barcelona?
Yes! Every trip nourishes my art. I love meeting people from different cultural backgrounds. My favorite cities to do Guest Spots are Perth and Berlin, but there’s lot’s of cities I still want to visit!
What does Specialty Needling mean to you?
It’s the integration of art, technique, and body awareness, offering tattoos as an artistic, sensitive, and care oriented experience.
